The AACA Eastern Regional Fall Meet is a week long event that takes place the first week in October. The week is packed with activities such as a week long flea market, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , car-themed movie night, car corral and the Saturday car show.

I had never been to Fall Meet before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Except for the rain, which lasted for most of the day, it turned out to be a great show! There were lots of interesting, rare, and downright obscure factory-spec and concours-level cars and trucks in attendance. There were also many interesting vehicles to be found for sale in the car corral.

A handful of pictures can be found below. The rest of the set can be found in full-resolution on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Enjoy :

What’s with all the fire extinguishers? Great pics, love the XJ-C.

Great mix of cars. I love that Crosley Farm O Road. And the Gremlin.

I haven’t been in the area too long (a little over 2 years), and this was my first time at the show, but I have heard that it isn’t a typical show week if it hasn’t rained at some point during the week.

It really was. I can finally say I saw a ‘57 Gaz Volga in person!

That’s awesome. Tick that off the Jalop bucket list. I love the way they did the two-tone on it. Funny enough, there’s a guy in my neighborhood here in L.A. who has one of those.

A fire extinguisher is required by the AACA as part of vehicle judging. Not having one is an automatic disqualification.

Thanks! That XJ-C was very nice. It was for sale, too!

The two-tone does have a lot of style, though, in my opinion the coolest part was all of the little details.

The speedometer is translucent, by the way.

Yeah, those are great. I love that hood ornament. And, I never knew that about the speedo. Incredible. Here’s the one that lives near me.

Kinja'd!!!

It must be a different year, or model because it doesn’t have the stag or the translucent gauge.

That’s a ‘62-’70 model; known as the third series, or Baleen/Whalebone model ( Kitovy Us), due to the grille . Those did away with the stag hood ornament.

The one I saw was a ‘57 model (made ‘56-’58); known as the first series, or Star, due to the star emblem on the grille.

There was also the second series (Shark or “Akula”), and the wagon version (Shed).

Incedentally, the Volga reached serial production on October 10th, 1956...so, 60 years ago yesterday!
